The General Business major provides a curriculum that will give you a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of business. General Business students have more options in class selection than students in the other majors in the College of Business. Bachelor degrees require students to complete a minimum of 120 semester units which include a combination of General Education requirements and program specific requirements. In the absence of sufficient transfer credit, students may need to take additional general electives to satisfy the 120 total units for the degree which a UMass Global Academic Advisor will help you evaluate.
Terry College
Provides active learning activities that enable effective transition to the academic environment. Students examine school, college and university programs, policies and services. The General Business program is for students who may desire an “individualized” (i.e. less prescriptive) business major. For instance, a student interested in working for a market research firm may want to combine courses from both management information systems and marketing. The CAGLE Center is the main hub of study abroad opportunities in Spears Business.

Students identified as needing developmental course work must satisfactorily complete the appropriate English and mathematics courses as part of their degree program.
